EQUIPMENT LIST NORTH POLE
For "The Three day trip"
We will supply items marked " Ousland ". The rest is essentially personal equipment. It may look like a lot, but these are usually items people will already have or could borrow from friends. In general it involves equipment commonly used in the mountains. Additional requirements for a cold trip like this are good and warm sleeping bags, down jackets and very warm footwear, warm hat and mitts and face mask.
With respect to skis and footwear, I have chosen to use Sorels shoes. This is a solution we have used before with great sucsess and the boots are also very warm. This combination of boots and bindings has been used a number of times before, also on long Arctic expeditions. Participants who do not wish to ski, can use snow shoes.
Everyone is welcome to use his/her own equipment as long as it meets the requirements for Arctic conditions. If you don't have a down jacket you will have to get one. It must be large enough to fit outside the wind jacket. Down jackets can also be bought tax-free on Svalbard .
